FUNDRAISING

Marquee is always interested in hearing from VOLUNTEERS who either have experience or are enthusiastic “first-timers”, for various positions, including:

  • Props Managers and Props Runners
  • Costume Designers and Seamstresses
  • Assistant Stage Managers
  • Make Up and Hair Artists
  • Set Painters and Set Dressers
  • Set Builders
  • Stage Crew (age 16 and older please)
  • Front of House Greeters (outgoing personalities)
  • Outgoing people for Publicity
  • Leaders in Training for Summer and March Break Camps

We are also looking for volunteers to participate on one of our committees.

Production Committee:

  • Responsible for overseeing all productions for Marquee, both adult and non-adult
  • Assists members in contacting committee heads and production staff on shows
  • Plans and carries out special community-related events where needed
  • Responsible for recruiting and providing designers for each show – set, costumes, props
  • Works with department heads to get crews for each show: Set construction and painting crews, Costume crews and Props crews
  • Maintains inventory of flats, set pieces, furniture, costumes, and props
  • Chaired by Executive Director (or designate)
  • Members: Executive Director, Operations Manager, 1 board member, Workshop Supervisor, Head of Costumes, Head of Props, 2 member volunteers

Marketing Committee:

  • Seeks opportunities to promote the theatre/shows by arranging cast appearances at civic groups or other community events
  • Follows up on possible group sales and special performances
  • Researches target audience and maintains data on existing audience and members attending performances
  • Chaired by Executive Director (or designate)
  • Members: Executive Director, Chair of Show Selection Committee, Operations Manager, 2 board members, 3 member volunteers

Membership & Social Committee:

  • Responsible for planning and organizing social events/gatherings/parties for membership
  • Arranges Opening (or Closing) Night Party for each of the main stage shows
  • Committee members are responsible for invitation, mailing, catering, decoration, entertainment, clean-up
  • Chaired by 1 board member 5. Members: Executive Director, 1 board member, Office Manger, 3 member volunteers

BIO

After a 30+ year career in Human Resources and Change Management, Maureen continues to find ways to be productive and give back to her community. Whether this is being Marquee’s Treasurer for the past 3 years, helping out backstage or finally making her stage debut in 2023. Maureen is also on the Aurora Food Pantry Board of Directors, belongs to local choirs, loves to workout and spend time with her family.
