Weekly rehearsals – attendance is important as it will move along to learn a new piece at each class.
Potential solos will be assigned based on voices best suited for the song but also based on who is present.
The purchase of a Marquee T-shirt is required for performances (unless you already have one) for $25. Student may wear their own solid black leggings or pants for the concert
Concert
The January to June session will culminate in a public concert held on June 5th at 7pm.

Our Audition Preparation Workshop is designed to help young performers and their parents shine in every audition, building confidence and technique in singing, acting, and dancing—the essential components of a musical audition.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
– Expert guidance on audition techniques for singing, acting, and dancing.
– Hands-on experience using material from our upcoming Term 2 productions: Aladdin Jr. (Junior) and Mary Moppins Jr. (Intermediate).
– Practical tips and skills that can be applied to any audition.
This workshop is open to all aspiring performers across the GTA, and we are proud to offer a special discount to current Marquee Members (as of September 1, 2024).

Reading Music 101
Ages 6-9 and 10-13
Have you Ever been handed sheet music and thought… “Where do I even start?”
You’re not alone — and this workshop is exactly what you’ve been waiting for!
Reading Music 101 is a fun, beginner-friendly (AND FUN!) session designed to help you finally crack the code of reading vocal music for musical theatre. Led by Laurie Thomas, a professional music teacher with over 30 years of experience, this 2.5-hour workshop (with two short breaks) will give you the tools and confidence to approach any score.
WHAT WILL BE COVERED
You’ll learn the essentials — the music staff, note names, rhythms, rests, and more — all while working through a real musical theatre song. Plus, you’ll get a take-home workbook and discover fantastic online resources to keep learning long after the session ends.
Whether you’re brand new or just need a refresher, this is your chance to unlock a whole new level of joy in your singing.

A sing-your-heart-out gathering that celebrates the magic of Broadway where we’ll come together to belt out iconic favourites from beloved musical theatre shows in a fun, relaxed, and totally welcoming environment.
This event is for ANYBODY who LOVES to sing age 13 – adult.
No experience, auditions, or pressure — just community, harmony, and the thrill of raising our voices together.

After a 30+ year career in Human Resources and Change Management, Maureen continues to find ways to be productive and give back to her community. Whether this is being Marquee’s Treasurer for the past 3 years, helping out backstage or finally making her stage debut in 2023. Maureen is also on the Aurora Food Pantry Board of Directors, belongs to local choirs, loves to workout and spend time with her family.
